MY PARK

The park is a happy and sad place for Branden to go to. While he enjoys having fun with his friends and family at the park, he has begun to feel “let down or helpless” in the park as he can’t run or climb freely like other kids.

He has to learn to face his shortcomings with courage and focus on what he can do instead when he goes to the park.

EMBRACE UNIQUENESS

What makes us different, is what makes us unique. Embrace Uniqueness is a meaningful collaborative artwork between Branden and Aqil, at an art jam event. Branden was 6 years old at that time, with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), while Aqil was a teenager, with Autism.

Though they had their own set of challenges to deal with, their differences did not matter as they sat together quietly to paint.

The bold strokes and colours say loud and clear, “Wonderful things are possible, if we can just embrace our uniqueness.”
